First Year Experience Program

A First Year Experience Program that is focused on helping students transition to the university. Research shows us students who participate in such course experiences have greater success in college (i.e. higher GPA, shorter time to degree, overall greater student experience).

Leadership Opportunities

Our students are encouraged to pursue internships, service learning, and leadership opportunities to make sure they are graduating with experience.   We are the leading college on MSU’s campus in international internships, in more than 14 countries.

While MSU is a world leader in study abroad, the College of Arts & Letters is proud to be a leader on campus.  Providing more than 80 programs, on 6 continents, and in nearly 40 countries.

Diverse Study Away Programs

We offer innovative and diverse programs in Study Away to cities like New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, and Chicago.

Peer Mentoring Program

The College of Arts and Letters has established a Peer Mentoring Program for first semester incoming freshman. Upper classmen in the College of Arts and Letters meet with mentees on a regular basis with mentees to foster a positive transition high school to college in a fun and engaging way. Learn More >
